New Zealand has a simple low cost tax system. To operate within New Zealand overseas production companies need to enter into a production agreement with a registered New Zealand company. The main tax levied is a 12.5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) on all purchases. Purchased items are either quoted as inclusive or exclusive of GST.
