CREW

New Zealand crews are renowned for their hardworking, versatile edge and their focus on using evolving technology. Local, professional crews are mobile and very experienced with working on location.

Professional crews are based in the North Island (Auckland and Wellington) and in the South Island (Christchurch and Queenstown).

Specialist technicians such as stunt supervisors, motion control operators, car-rig operators, underwater camera and steadicam operators are readily available.

In New Zealand a 10 hour shoot day is the standard for commercials.

Overtime is charged at a rate of T 1.5 for the first 2 hours and T2 thereafter.

The working week is usually 5 days for drama and six days for commericals. Penalities are paid for 6th and 7th day for drama (unless the drama is negotiated as a 6 day shoot.) Commercials incur a 7th day penalty.

There are no additional charges for night shoots or weekend work if treated as a normal shooting day. Public holiday rates may be payable.
